After the debut of the High Country trim level for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we knew it was only a matter of time before the premium trim migrated to other models in the Chevrolet truck lineup. And today we have confirmation of that strategy with the introduction of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD High Country.
As with the half-ton model, the High Country HD brings both cosmetic and content upgrades over a similarly-equipped LTZ model, starting with body-colored front and rear bumpers, included tube steps, High Country badges on the door, and door sill plates.
On the inside, the High Country HDs get exclusive saddle brown leather seating with heated and cooled perforated front seats with High Country logos on the headrest, Chevrolet's MyLink connectivity system with an eight-inch touchscreen, Bose premium audio, and front and rear park assist.
Additional options included sunroof, navigation, rear-seat entertainment package with a BluRay/DVD player, and a High Country premium package with heated steering wheel, driver alert package, and power adjustable pedals.
The High Country trim is available on 2500, 3500 single-rear-wheel and dualie models, and with all of the available engines on HD models. The 2500 HD gets 20-inch chrome-plated wheels, the 3500 SRW gets 18-inch chrome wheels, and the 3500 dualie gets 17-inch forged polished aluminum wheels. Pricing for the 2015 Silverado High Country HD models will be announced closer to their on-sale date this summer.
