Chrysler in general is the master of special-edition trims, and Jeep has been successful with many different special trims and configurations on its varied models over the last few years. One of the most popular has been the Altitude editions of the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee models. For 2014, there's a new member of the Altitude family in the form of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Like the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, the Cherokee Altitude is distinguished by black trim accents inside and out.

Cherokee Altitude
The Cherokee Altitude is available in two- or four-wheel-drive models and with the base 2.4-liter TigerShark I-4 engine, or the optional 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6. The Altitude trim on the Cherokee includes gloss black grille surrounds, roof rails, a lower front fascia applique, and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels. Available colors are Black Crystal Metallic, Bright White, Billet Silver Metallic, and Granite Crystal Metallic. Starting price for the 2014 Cherokee Altitude is $25,990 for the two-wheel-drive model and $27,990 for the four-wheel-drive model. Both prices include $995 destination.

Grand Cherokee Altitude
The Grand Cherokee Altitude is based on the Laredo trim, and is available exclusively with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and offered in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. Styling highlights on the Grand Cherokee Altitude include gloss black bezel inserts for the grille, foglamp bezels, lower front fascia applique, and rear step pad surround. Included are 20-inch five-spoke black painted alloy wheels.

The interior features black heated leather front seats, a heated steering wheel, a standard Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen display, and integrated universal garage door opener. Also included on the Grand Cherokee Altitude is a power liftgate and rearview camera and backup sensors. Available colors are Billet Silver, Bright White, Brilliant Black Metallic, Deep Cherry, Granite Crystal, and Maximum Steel. Starting price for the 2014 Grand Cherokee Altitude is $36,285 for the two-wheel-drive model and $38,285 for the four-wheel-drive model.

Wrangler Altitude
The 2014 Wrangler Altitude is based on the Sahara trim, and is available on both the two-door model and four-door Wrangler Unlimited. The Wrangler Altitude gets a matte black grille with gloss black "throats," headlight bezels and Jeep badge, front and rear gloss black bumper appliques, and a matte black "Wrangler" hood decal.

Inside, the Wrangler Altitude gets black leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with black spokes and stitching, and black painted vent rings and grab handles. Also included in the Altitude package is the Wrangler Connectivity Group. All Wrangler Altitude models come standard with four-wheel drive, and a 2.72:1 low range ratio. Available colors are Amp'd (golden bronze), Black, Granite Crystal, and Hydro Blue. Prices start at $32,590 for two-door models and $36,390 for the Unlimited model. Prices include destination.
