The question is, will it pull my 26' trailer over the summit of 7,300 ft toward Tahoe?

The ecodiesel will be slower than any of it's competition especially the ecoboost. I live in humid and rainy ass South Carolina and I nor the anybody I know locally have had the missfire issue that only occurs in the rain when your passing a unicorn uphill during a tsunami. I'll take a misfire/stall over an actual fire like the gm trucks are dealing with. The ecodiesel has a Max tow rating if 9200lbs if you get the stripped down base model. Weak.

Wow all you idiots need to realize this is EPA ratings as in you have to compare what your truck was EPA rated at not what you're actually getting. My 2008 RAM 1500 4x4 HEMI is EPA rated at 13/17 yet I get 13/22 real world. The EcoDiesel is a huge improvement over my trucks MPG and smokes everything else on the market including the overhyped fire prone power loss when raining engine known as the EcoBoost. In case all you blowhards didn't know it only gets up to 15/21 4x4 which is matched by the current HEMI 4x4 and the EcoDiesel blows it away at 19/27. Learn the facts little kids and stop living in your own little biased, sheep heard world.

If that GM design eco diesel built by "fiat " I meant chrysler. Has not changed from the GM design it just might be OK. But if Fiat / Chrysler made any changes to it. Then it's going to have problems.

Lets see how it holds up. Dodge trucks are notorious for breaking parts like trans, U joints and spring perches.

Now hopefully they work towards Aluminum to lighten up this truck, so it can venture into 30mpg territory with this diesel engine.

Nice mileage but the price isn't worth it. Still great mileage for the power in a truck.

It outperforms all the other motors in it's class Brent Moller. Especially on mountain passes with 10,000lbs strapped to the hitch.

No diesel in f150 they are to in to their eco boost trying to force a poor little engine to perform

I own a ecoboost F-150 and it gets the mileage or slightly better than What's on the sticker at 16 city and 22 hwy. If you get one base model with a 3.15 you might get 18 city 24 hwy. But that motor pulls as close to a diesel as you'll get with a gas motor. Yeah it's a turbo six, but so is the cummins, and most if not all big rig diesel's.

Don't know how this is truck of the year. It doesn't out haul or out tow any of it's GAS competition. It should be competing against the Honda pilot or Toyota Highlander since they made the the truck for soccer moms

5.9 cummins all day, you don't buy a truck for full economy, you buy it for what it will do for you.
