GM Announces Prices For Silverado and Sierra Pickups

General Motors Newsroom - December 24, 2003

All-new 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Fleetside and GMC Sierra Wideside half-ton Crew Cab pickups will have manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) starting at $31,145 for the base two-wheel-drive Silverado LS and $31,610 for the two-wheel-drive Sierra SLE when they begin arriving at dealerships in late January. Prices include a destination charge of $850.

The half-ton Crew Cabs give Chevy and GMC new entries in one of the fastest-growing segments of the truck market. Teamed with GM's HD Crew Cabs and the Chevrolet Avalanche, they broaden GM's lineup of full-size crew cab pickups.

Silverado offers a specially equipped Z71 Off-Road model. The Z71 Off-Road suspension package itself is available on four-wheel-drive Sierra SLE and SLT models as a $300 option. A Z85 handling / trailering package, specially tuned for optimum ride and improved handling, is one of the trucks' many standard features.

Silverado and Sierra half-ton Crew Cabs provide four full-sized doors, roomy six-passenger seating, and a new 5-foot 8-inch cargo bed that Chevrolet says permits easy handling, parking, and garageability, without compromising the trucking capabilities customers expect of GM full-size pickups.

"Our newest Sierra Crew Cabs' many class-leading features, such as the highest available payloads, and exclusives like a driver information center clearly provide a new level of Professonal Grade capabilities for half-ton customers," says Pontiac GMC General Manager Lynn Myers.

"Silverado half-ton Crew Cabs are not only designed to further Chevrolet's reputation for providing the most dependable, long-lasting trucks, but are generously equipped to make them an outstanding customer value," adds Chevrolet General Manager Brent Dewar.

All half-ton Crew Cabs are powered by GM's Vortec 5300 V-8, with 295 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, coupled to the highly proven, smooth-shifting Hydra-Matic 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission.
