Big, heavy trucks aren't exactly easy on brakes, but Banks Power has two ways to achieve stronger, safer stopping power and save years of wear and tear on Ford or Dodge diesel's brakes. First, the company's SmartLock Trans Brake is an electronic braking device that raises automatic-transmission line pressure and locks the torque converter when conditions call for deceleration. SmartLock protects the trans, significantly reducing fluid temperatures and eliminating slipping. For maximum braking power, add the Banks Brake diesel exhaust brake, which increases backpressure to slow down your truck. The Banks Brake features an oversize butterfly valve and 4-in. vacuum actuator for extra-strong holding force.
