peter400 5pts While Land Rovers have a lot to offer there is one HUGE problem with these vehicles that is not covered in the context of most reviews, reliability. For over 10 years Land Rover vehicles have ranked at the very bottom (or 2nd to last) in JD Power & Associates Vehicle Dependability Studies, and Consumer Reports consistently ranks Land Rover reliability as "much worse than average". After owning 2 Land Rover vehicles I can honestly say that mechanical failures and breakdowns are quite frequent. If you decide to purchase a Land Rover a full-mechanical extended warranty is a must and sell or trade the vehicle before your warranty coverage expires. Land Rovers usually require "genuine parts" and they are VERY expensive and sometimes only LR dealerships can properly complete repairs. Having AAA and a spare vehicle is also a good idea. Just speaking from experience.
