The 15th annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge saw Robby Gordon claim first as he masterfully piloted his Monster Energy/Toyo Tires Chevy Silverado trophy truck across the finish line. Set in Laughlin, Nevada, the race weekend saw Gordon best his nearest opponent by more than four minutes.
During qualifications runs on Friday, January 23, Gordon finished first, ahead of 102 other competitors. The Laughlin Desert Challenge uses a cumulative time race format, with the race competitions bing held on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25. Gordon placed second on Saturday, but finished first on Sunday to take the overall win for the weekend.
Gordon finished third in the recently held Dakar Rally in South America while piloting his Monster Energy/Toyo Tires Hummer H3 rally racer.
