Before you grab your Garmin portable navigation system and head off on a road trip, you might consider RoadsideAmerica.com's downloadable add-on called Attractions and Oddities.

Available for $19.99 on Garmin devices, RoadsideAmerica.com's special download does exactly what you might expect it to do: collect information on over 5000 offbeat roadside attractions in all 50 states.

"Dedicated GPS devices are great for providing precise routing advice and directions," said Doug Kirby, publisher and editor of RoadsideAmerica.com. "Attractions and Oddities makes it easy to take a spontaneous side trip to the bizarre, just by hitting 'Go' to a nearby place listed on your device."

You'll find photos, locations, URLs, and hours of attractions like small museums, World's Largest _____ sites, folk art sites, odd statues, and even tourist traps. If you've already got a Garmin navigation system, it seems like this $20 product might be a wise addition if you've got the time to discover hidden treasures like the World's Largest Six Pack or the museum in Reno, Nevada with elephant foot trash cans.
