Mahindra TR40 Diesel Truck Spotted During Testing
September 24, 2009
The Mahindra TR40 truck was recently spied on a test run, and differentiating the U.S. version from the foreign model is a front bumper guard and a stamped-steel rear bumper. Both additions were made to ensure the Indian trucks pass U.S. crash-test regulations, which dictate that front and rear bumpers are to come out unscathed after a 2.5-mph direct collision and a 1.5-mph corner crash. Interior spy shots revealed a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual gear select option and a center console housing three cup holders, power window controls, and a 4WD-mode selector.
Due to go on sale in February, the Mahindra trucks are expected to be priced starting from $20,000 to $25,000.
