2015 Ford F-150 SuperCab Keeps Rear-Hinged Doors Spied!
Ford is inching ever closer to its F-150 counterpunch.
With GM, Ram, and Toyota introducing new or refreshed models, and Nissan promising a no-holds-barred Titan replacement, it's good timing.
The latest spy photographs show three versions of the F-150: Regular, SuperCrew and SuperCab models. So the regular cab sticks around for a while longer, despite market forces (people buy more extended cabs) and regulatory forces (fuel economy standards essentially penalize short-wheelbase trucks).
Ford appears to be sticking with rear-hinged doors on the SuperCab. The grille still appears inspired by the Ford Atlas concept truck.
Apparently gone forever from the Atlas are the nifty active-shutter aerodynamic wheels, as this is the second time we've seen F-150 prototypes without them. But as our own Ed Sanchez pointed out in June, they might carry a high price when a load warrior needs to replace them.
The 2015 F-150 may debut, sans the disguise, at the Detroit auto show in January.
