These revealing photos show the updated Ram 1500, including a glance under the hood. Our spy photographer discovered that this half-ton Ram is powered by Chrysler's 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. These photos also give a clear look at the Ram 1500's upcoming face-lift. The mesh grille that appeared in 2009 is gone, replaced by a grille that resembles the nose on Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickups. The crossbar that runs lengthwise across the front has been broadened, while the lower bumper sports a new design with improved access to the tow hooks and new foglamp cutouts. In the Ram, the Pentastar 3.6-liter, six-cylinder mill is expected to produce approximately 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. You can even see a small Ram head embossed atop the air intake. The 3.6 is expected to be paired with an all-new ZF eight-speed transmission, and will compete with Ford F-150's 3.7-liter V-6 and the Toyota Tundra's 4.0-liter V-6.
Sorry Folks, we can't show you the full images at the moment but you can see it in our upcoming January/February 2012 issue, set to hit news stands on November 29, 2011.
