Seen here is the next member of GM's crossover family, which will replace the current Daewoo-designed Chevrolet Tacuma -- not sold in the U.S. -- in 2010. Codenamed MPV-7, the vehicle is designed to be more SUV-like, unlike the current Tacuma, which is more of a minivan-like vehicle in the vein of the Mazda5 and Kia Rondo, and it may carry a different name.

It will ride on the global Delta platform, which will also underpin the Chevrolet Cruze. Power will come from a range of four-cylinder engines ranging between 1.8L and 2.4L in displacement as well as a 2.0L diesel. As the codename suggests, it will have a third row of seats, providing enough room for seven passengers.

It is not intended as a replacement for the Chevrolet Equinox and will be about 4.7 in. shorter than the next-generation Equinox, which will remain on the long-wheelbase Theta platform. In fact, the vehicle's availability for the U.S. market remains up in the air. Should GM choose to offer it in the U.S., the rumored name change will become a necessity to avoid any undue confusion with the Toyota Tacoma truck.
