Photo 2/31 | Tuffy Products Security 01 | We needed added security for our ’15 Ford F-150, so for this install we picked out four different Tuffy products: the full width under rear seat lockbox (PN 316-01), the console insert (PN 317-01), portable large safe (PN 303-01), and the One-Key Alike Kit (PN 088-005).
Photo 3/31 | Tuffy Products Security 02 | We like the simple design of the Tuffy large portable safe that allowed us to either lock-up items inside the safe box or take the whole unit with us indoors if desired.
Photo 4/31 | Tuffy Products Security 03 | The portable safe is installed under the front passenger seat. We took the supplied cable and made a loop around the rear seat mounting bracket, then back through the end loop on the cable.
Photo 5/31 | Tuffy Products Security 04 | The safe has a cutout in the front to secure the open-end loop of the supplied cable as shown.
Photo 6/31 | Tuffy Products Security 05 | Next, you can add whatever you want locked up inside the safe and close the lockable lid.
Photo 7/31 | Tuffy Products Security 06 | Now you can slide the safe under the seat for transporting to your destination.
Photo 8/31 | Tuffy Products Security 07 | If you want to take the safe with you, just unlock the lid with your key, remove the attached cable, and close the lid.
Photo 9/31 | Tuffy Products Security 08 | For the F-150 crew cab full-width under rear set lockbox, we were quite shocked to hear that the custom specific under seat lock box did not require any modifications to the truck and only used the factory mounting locations to secure it. First, we unboxed all the brackets and hardware supplied with the lockbox.
Photo 10/31 | Tuffy Products Security 09 | We flipped both rear seats bottom up and remove all your personal items from the factory storage area.
Photo 11/31 | Tuffy Products Security 10 | Starting on one side, we used a 13mm socket to remove the OEM outer seat mount bolt that secures the seat to the floor.
Photo 12/31 | Tuffy Products Security 11 | This allowed the seat mount to move enough to slip the bracket and carriage bolt under the mount as shown.
Photo 13/31 | Tuffy Products Security 12 | Next, we the same to the other side of the truck.
Photo 14/31 | Tuffy Products Security 13 | We placed the lockbox inside the truck and aligned the carriage bolts up to the mounting holes on the back of the box.
Photo 15/31 | Tuffy Products Security 14 | With the carriage bolts through the lockbox back wall, we installed the supplied washers and Wing Knob nuts.
Photo 16/31 | Tuffy Products Security 15 | Now we laid down the seat bottoms to check the side-to-side alignment.
Photo 17/31 | Tuffy Products Security 16 | Once we were satisfied with the alignment, we tightened down the lockbox to secure it in place.
Photo 18/31 | Tuffy Products Security 17 | Finally, we reinstalled the factory seat bolts and enjoyed the newly installed lockbox.
Photo 19/31 | Tuffy Products Security 18 | We were quite happy with the amount of space the lockbox provided.
Photo 20/31 | Tuffy Products Security 19 | Now we were on to the F-150’s Flow-thru console insert install.
Photo 21/31 | Tuffy Products Security 20 | First we removed all contents from the center console including the rubber bottom mat.
Photo 22/31 | Tuffy Products Security 21 | We opened the lid of the insert and installed the supplied hardware.
Photo 23/31 | Tuffy Products Security 22 | Proper installation required placement the console insert into the console on edge diagonally, with the upper surface of the insert facing the driver side as shown.
Photo 24/31 | Tuffy Products Security 23 | Then, we rotated the insert with the logo facing up.
Photo 25/31 | Tuffy Products Security 24 | Next, we inserted the rear mounting plate and secured it in place with the supplied screws.
Photo 26/31 | Tuffy Products Security 25 | Install the front mounting plate and secure with supplied screws.
Photo 27/31 | Tuffy Products Security 26 | Next, lift the main lid assembly and push down the front/back mounting legs.
Photo 28/31 | Tuffy Products Security 27 | Install the two bottom plates and secure in place with the supplied screws.
Photo 30/31 | Tuffy Products Security 29 | Place your lockable items into the lockable console as desired and lock.
Photo 31/31 | Tuffy Products Security 30 | Finally, place the factory coin tray back in place over the locked console and close the main console lid. You are all set and you can now feel confident that your valuable items are now secure.
