You got it. These items represent a portion of the 43 items (all celebrating design icons and technological innovations) to be auctioned off at Jony and Marc’s (RED) Auction to be held at Sotheby’s New York on November 23, 2013, in collaboration with musician and philanthropist Bono. All proceeds will benefit The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Included as one of the innovate items is a 16-foot Airstream Bambi Sport Travel Trailer Edition 01/01 with a custom interior and unique wheels designed by Jonathan Ive (Senior VP of design at Apple) and Marc Newson (renown Industrial Designer) just for the (RED) Auction. It is expected to bring in 50-70K. Airstream’s inclusion in such an ultra-exclusive auction is a testament to its iconic design and innovation. The other auction item most closely related to the Airstream travel trailer is a 2013 Range Rover Edition 01/01.
The original (RED) auction, held in February 2008, raised over $40 million and was touted as the most significant charity auction ever held.
