The Scout MottoWhether caused by an old battery or a dome light left on overnight, it’s likely each of us will have to deal with a no-start situation at some point. Be prepared with the Jump Starter and Power Bank, from Line-X’s new accessories brand Truck Gear. The little power pack can provide up to 600 peak cranking amps to turn over even the largest engines, and it can also be used to provide 12V DC and 110V AC charging for dead cell phones, radios, and other modern necessities. Easy-Breathing Brake CleanerOver time, even the best brakes get subjected to oil, dirt, and brake-dust buildup, leading to added friction and reduced braking performance. But thanks to 3M’s High Power Brake Cleaner, gearheads can keep their stoppers clean and free from residue. The low-VOC formula works eight times faster than comparable products, according to 3M, making the cleanup process easier: just spray the brake cleaner onto the drum and let it drip into an approved container, taking months or years of oil and dust buildup with it.
Sound That RocksFor daily-driven vehicles, space is an important consideration—more so in extended- or single-cab trucks. That’s why Rockford Fosgate offers the 400-watt PBR400XD compact four-channel amplifier. Capable of kicking out 50 watts per channel (or up to 200 watts for two channels), the amplifier measures less than 2 inches thick, making it easy to install under a seat and out of the way. It also gets a quick-connect wiring harness that eliminates screw terminal connections, making installation faster and easier.
Frosty FunboxIt’s 2018, so why shouldn’t your fridge have Wi-Fi and a USB charging port? Those high-tech goodies are a part of the Dometic CFX 100 package. Although it looks like a standard cooler, it’s actually a portable refrigerator and freezer that doesn’t need ice, capable of temps as low as –7 degrees F. With a 147-can capacity, it sounds ideal for tailgating and camping weekends, bolstered by its ability to run off 110V, 12V, and 24V power sources. And it’s Wi-Fi–enabled so you can control it and monitor settings from your smartphone (which can conveniently be juiced up through the onboard USB charger).
Lofty GoalsZone Offroad’s new 4.5-inch Lift Kit for the ’14–’18 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 could be the sweet spot as far as stance, styling, and function are concerned. The kit includes a pair of heavy-duty crossmembers, ductile iron steering knuckles, strut spacers, rear blocks, and more to provide longevity and durability. In addition to the improved stance and ground clearance, the kit makes space for a 33- or 35-inch tire. Furthermore, the 4.5-inch lift kit and its taller 6.5-inch counterpart have been safety-tested to guarantee stability control compliance.
Space for UpgradesAmerican Expedition Vehicles wants ’13–’18 Ram owners to be able to add all sorts of bells and whistles to their trucks. That’s why the company sells the new Switch Pod with up to six auxiliary switches, which can be easily mounted to the top of the truck’s interior center stack. Specifically molded to the Ram’s interior contours, the Switch Pod can also be custom-painted, and AEV says it takes about an hour to install for most trucks. It can hold a variety of switches, integrating with all the toys on your truck.
