Saturn spent 2007 targeting the family-size-crossover category, a segment that's booming now that fuel economy, efficient use of space, and behind-the-wheel fun are necessities. 
A new program called "Spot the Tot" has been created to raise awareness about child safety and reduce fatalities resulting from automobile accidents. The program is run by Safe Kids Worldwide and General Motors and is designed to educate parents about child safety measures needed both in and around the car.

General Motors (GM) reports it is working to install a type of engine that will improve fuel efficiency by more than 15 percent and contribute to reducing U.S. foreign oil dependency. The homogenous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine also creates less toxic emissions by burning fuel with a flameless combustion rather than using a spark plug. During the IAA motor show in Frankfurt, Porsche plans to unveil the Cayenne GTS – the company’s first SUV to include its electronically controlled damping system with steel springs. The sports SUV includes a 4.8 liter engine with direct gasoline fuel injection and consumes 13.9 liters per 100 kilometers (a figure in accordance with EU standards). The Cayenne GTS can also achieve the fastest acceleration rate among its SUV counterparts. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds 
The way a trailer is loaded can have a big impact on trailer stability and driver safety. Now General Motors has introduced Electronic Trailer Sway Control technology to keep a trailer from swaying and affecting control of the lead vehicle. According to GM, loading too heavily in the rear of the trailer can cause it to sway, an effect called “the tail wagging the dog.” This motion can cause drivers to lose control and endangering themselves and others on the road. The new technology senses that
