It's been years since we've seen a new face on a Ford Ranger and far longer since the truck has received any significant updates, but as long as it keeps selling, Ford hasn't seen the need to change it much. On the other hand, a real face lift rather than a mild refresh would be welcome, and that's just what Ford has done -- for the Asian market at least -- in the form of the Ranger Max concept it recently debuted at the 25th annual Thailand Motor Show.

No specifications have been released yet, but it's likely the concept was built on an existing Asian market Ranger. In Thailand, the Ranger is powered by either a 2.5L or a 3.0L inline four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. We're hoping that not only will this much-improved design make its way to our shores, but that improvements to the chassis and drivetrain will come with it.
