New for 2009 is a new trim level for the XC70: the T6. The T6 will be powered by a turbocharged 3.0L I-6 pumping out 281 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Though the T6 is smaller in displacement than the standard 3.2L model, forced induction through the twin-scroll single turbocharger more than compensates for extra power.
The new T6 will also receive 17-in. "Sargas" alloy wheels, dual tailpipes, T6 badging, a watch dial instrument cluster, and cross-brushed aluminum inlays in the interior. Optional 18-in. "Minos" alloy wheels are available. MSRP for the new T6 model starts at $39,500.
For the 3.2 and T6 models, Bluetooth hands-free phone interface now comes standard. A new Technology Package includes a premium Dynaudio sound system with Sirius satellite radio along with rear seat headphone jacks and audio controls. Active bi-Xenon headlights are also a part of the Technology Package. For the 3.2 trim level, the Caper Green color replaces Willow Green.
