What's New for 2010
In just its second year, Ford's people-moving CUV will be available with some extra motivation underneath its hood in the form of the newly available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. The direct-injected, twin-turbo mill produces 355 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, delivering an additional 93 horsepower and 102 pound-feet of torque over the now-basic 3.5-liter Duratec V-6 that was the only engine option for the 2009 Flex.
Paired with the EcoBoost V-6 is Ford's six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission, which offers both fully automatic operation and manual control through the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All-wheel drive comes standard with the EcoBoost'ed Flex, and equipping the optional towing package gives a max towing capacity of 4500 pounds. Fuel economy is rated at 16 city/22 highway.
Other changes and new features for 2010 include light suspension adjustments for a ride height reduction of 10 millimeters, Active Park Assist, Trailer Sway Control, MyKey, a telescoping steering wheel, and a new 20-inch wheel option.
