Kill Switch 2012 - Custom Truck Show - Web Exclusive
Once again, Abel Gracia put on one heck of a show
The 2012 Killswitch Car Show held at the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo grounds was packed full of custom rides ranging from motorcycles and golf carts to huge, tractor-tired Yukons. There was something for everyone to check out.
The weather cooperated with a great deal of sun, a gentle breeze, and no rain. It was hot, but August in Texas is never surprising with what you get. The sun is always welcome to show off the different custom paintjobs. Vendors form KIK, MadGear, Adam's Polishes, Fast Life, etc. were on hand showing their wares and giving show attendees the opportunity to purchase and enjoy a few souvenirs of the day's events.
Two events drawing great attention were the watermelon eating and truck limbo contest. The watermelon eating contestants had a whole watermelon to eat and whoever ate it the fastest was the winner. It was fairly obvious the winner had some prior experience with the act of quickly devouring a melon. The limbo contest was there to see who had the lowest rolling rig. Several trucks and cars competed, but the eventual winner was a four-door rat rod.
The show had several different trophies for individuals to win. Fastlife made some lithe red wagon trophies for the "Best of's". MaxedOut Paintwurx provided a tall all-steel "Best of Show" Award, and there were several skateboard awards for personal events….One being the watermelon eating competition.
