Craftsman Restoration Rollout: Roadster Shop Builds 1969 Chevrolet C-10
A Four Month Promotional Build to Culminate at SEMA
Dubbed the 2013 Restoration Rollout Series, Craftsman and the Roadster Shop have teamed up for a pro-touring, performance 1969 Chevrolet C-10 muscle build. The four month buildup - documented through 24 short video episodes, aided by Craftsman tools, and promoted through a corresponding sweepstakes - will debut at the SEMA Show and then be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson, with proceeds going to Heroes at Home. The videos and project plans depict the transformation of a semi-beat up, un-restored, long bed Arkansas-bought farm truck ’69 Chevy C10 into a fully restored, modernized, performance SEMA vehicle through the laborious efforts of the Roadster Shop and Craftsman Tools.
Episode 14, posted yesterday, leaves off with the truck painted and assembled atop a fully custom Roadster Shop chassis housing a top-mounted throttle body LS3 engine, dynoed at 550 hp. The remaining 10 episodes should bring the truck to roaring life. At the conclusion of most of the videos, click on a link leading to expanded written coverage including tools, materials, and steps. While you may not have the funds, facility, time or talent for this type of professional build, you can do a few things: enter the weekly tool sweepstakes for members as well as the Grand Prize Sweepstakes, watch the video episodes and apply the principles to your own project, and stay tuned to see this awesome project at SEMA 2013.
