2015 Chevrolet Tahoe: A Designer Tour
Interior and Exterior Thoughts from Tahoe's Lead Designers
This pair of Chevrolet videos depicts the all-new 2015 Chevy Tahoe’s interior and exterior from the Lead Designers’ points-of-view, offering a unique insight into why these vehicles look the way they do and what the lead guys enjoy most about the designs. Alexandre Henriques, Lead Exterior Designer for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, believes the presence and great, powerful stance of the sophisticated, athletic, modern and sculptured Tahoe SUV will be the first thing to catch the eye. One of his favorite exterior features is the simple crease line that runs along the body side. Everything is designed for improved aerodynamics, from the D-pillar design to the hidden rear wiper. Design and functionality take the Tahoe to a whole new level of refinement and attention to detail.
Bryan Priebe, Lead Interior Designer, portrays the Infotainment system as the keystone to the bold, refined, and versatile interior. He describes it as something you’d normally see in a home, just with everything within reach so as not to distract the driver too much. The gauge cluster, definitely different for 2015, is clean and interestingly gets its influence from wrist watches. A second screen in the gauge cluster displays secondary features and functions that come from the main infotainment system. Storage is maximized in the doors and on the console sidewalls. Chevy basically takes what it already had to the next level with these interiors, using premium materials instead of molded plastic. Moving toward the second and third rows, personal space for every passenger in the vehicle is the goal, as evidenced by “plug and play” second and third row capability. Priebe postulates that the seamless second and third row fold-flat seating with the push of a button will be extremely popular.
