Dan Ward's Says Goodbye To 8-Lug
My daily driver is an 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the Duramax diesel engine. The truck is red and has a simple Icon leveling kit, 33-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires, and 20-inch BMF wheels. It's a nice, clean driver, but it's not exactly magazine worthy. Like you, I take a great deal of pride in my ride, but more importantly it has an open bed, four-wheel drive, and plenty of room for my two young sons. A pickup is an amazing machine—you can use it every day to go to work, pick up your kids from day care, and handle a few errands. When the time comes to tow, haul, help someone move (you know friends always ask), or travel to where the pavement ends, a truck can do it all. Today's trucks have creature comforts that rival luxury cars from just a few years ago, and mpg keeps getting better each and every year.
It's easy for truck guys to be passionate about their rigs, so much so that regular car owners don't quite understand the love affair between a guy (or girl) and his truck. If you're like us, the sound of a diesel idling away at a stoplight is as beautiful as anything Mozart created. As the country music song declares, "There's just something about a truck." Your team at 8-Lug HD Truck eats, breathes, and sleeps trucks, so don't worry, you're in good hands.
Speaking of being in good hands, starting next issue, there will be a new pair of hands guiding the 8-Lug ship. I'm moving back to Georgia to provide a new start and hopefully a better life for my family. If you're ever in the Savannah area, be on the lookout for a guy driving a big truck with an even bigger smile on his face. Hit the train horns and give me a thumbs-up. I've been a part of 8-Lug since its inception, and I know I'm leaving it in better shape than when I found it. Thanks for reading.
Y'all be good.
