Ram Heavy Duty to Receive Exclusive Black Package

Popular Appearance Package on 1500 Models Goes Big

Jun 5, 2014
We've all seen the blacked-out Ram ½-ton trucks and turned our heads as they cruised by with black lights, grille, wheels, and smoothed body sides. Good news for us eight-lug drivers: Ram has announced 2500 and 3500 single-rear-wheel trucks will now be available in the "Black Package." A bold statement for sure, the blacked-out beast is an intimidating ride with all the capabilities of the optional Cummins turbodiesel and new coil-spring rear suspension. If Darth Vader ever needed to tow or haul, we know he'd head straight to a Ram dealership and drive one of these bad boys to the dark side.

You might look at this truck and instantly think it's been customized, however, this is just Ram's latest "Black Package," complete with black grille, lights, and wheels.

We've all seen HD trucks on the road stripped of brightwork and badging, looking menacing prowling the roads, and hauling power toys to the desert or river. But if you'd rather buy your truck off the lot with that look, Ram has been listening, and has introduced its Black Package for its Ram 2500 and 3500 single-rear-wheel models. The appearance package is available with either the gas engine or the Cummins 6.7L diesel. All body-side badging has been removed, except for the Cummins logo on diesel models.
In addition to the all-black exterior treatment, the Black Package includes the Ram Box in-bed storage system, cargo view camera, 20-inch black alloy wheels, blacked-out grille surround and inserts, and black headlight bezels with LED turn signals. The taillights also get the blackout and LED treatment. The Parkview and Parksense features are also included in the Black Package. Both 2500 and 3500 models get a rear load-leveling air suspension.
The Black Package is available on Ram 2500 and 3500 Crew and Mega Cab models, and on the Big Horn/Lone Star and Laramie trim models in two- or four-wheel drive. Pricing starts at $43,335 including $1,195 destination and is available to order at dealerships now.
