2015 Cadillac Escalade Platinum to Start at $90,270
New Enhancements Across Line Increase Price $1275
Ever since the second-generation Cadillac Escalade hit the scene in 2001, the big Caddy has been the definitive look-at-me SUV. It may not be the hip-hop fashion statement it once was (that role now effectively being assumed by Bentley), but for those that want a large, capable, comfortable SUV, the Escalade is as effective and striking as it’s ever been. Cadillac is taking the Escalade to the next level once again for 2015 with the addition of an eight-speed automatic transmission, OnStar 4G LTE connectivity, and a surround view camera.
The other big news for the 2015 model is the comeback of the Platinum Collection model during the fourth quarter of this year. The Platinum trim adds semi-aniline leather to the first and second-row seats, with the dashboard, upper door panels, and center console also getting the stitched-leather treatment. The Platinum also gets a suede microfiber headliner and exotic wood accents.
Other Platinum-trim goodies include heated and cooled 18-way power adjustable front seats with driver-side massage function, dual 7-inch LCD screens embedded in the front seat headrests for second-row outboard passengers complementing the 9-inch overhead screen, and Platinum door-sill plates and premium floor mats. The Platinum trim also includes a cooled center console to keep beverages chilled. The price for such opulence? A cool $90,270, including $995 destination.
