2015 Nissan Frontier, Xterra Get Minor Updates

Prices Rise from $150 to $900, New Color Media Display

Aug 22, 2014
The 2015 Nissan Frontier pickup and Xterra SUV roll into their tenth consecutive model year fundamentally unchanged. However, to say there have been no changes in the last decade would be slightly disingenuous, as Nissan has made some updates to its midsize pickup and off-road–oriented SUV over the years, mostly in the areas of entertainment and connectivity systems and optional features. For the 2015 model year, the Frontier and Xterra get a modest price bump of between $150 and $900, depending on trim level, and the addition of a 5-inch color display some models that includes NissanConnect with mobile apps. The priciest Frontier for 2015 is the SL Crew Cab 4x4 Long Wheelbase at $36,120, including $860 destination.
Equipment changes include NissanConnect 5-inch headunit that includes Bluetooth hands-free calling, audio streaming, USB iPod connectivity, and text messaging assistant on Xterra S models and the Frontier SV and Desert Runner. Frontier Pro-4X gets a standard 5.8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen display with navigation. Partially justifying the $900 higher price on the Frontier SL long-wheelbase is a standard moonroof for 2015. Engines remain a standard 152hp 2.5L I-4 in the Frontier King Cab (extended) models, with the majority of Frontiers and all Xterra models getting Nissan’s VQ40DE 4.0L V-6 with 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque.
An all-new Frontier is expected for the 2016 or 2017 model year, sharing a lot of its hardware with the recently introduced NP300 Navara pickup.
