Robert Hegbloom Named Head of Ram Brand
26-Year Chrysler Veteran Takes Reins at Opportune Time
Things are faster-moving than ever in the automotive industry, and not just because of technological advancements. The competitive landscape, whether domestically or globally, has never been more competitive, so it’s not unusual to have changes take place within the executive ranks of companies and brands. That’s just what happened with Chrysler’s Ram truck brand, arguably one of the company’s most important, in terms of growth potential and market share. Today, Robert “Bob” Hegbloom, a 26-year Chrysler veteran, was named head of the Ram brand, taking over the role from Reid Bigland and moving up from his previous role as head of Ram brand product marketing.
Bigland was named head of the Alfa Romeo brand for North America. He will retain his current duties as head of U.S. sales and CEO of Chrysler Canada. Hegbloom has extensive experience and background with Chrysler’s truck and SUV products, holding the role of marketing manager for Dodge trucks in 2001, working as senior manager of Dodge truck product planning in 2005, and serving as senior manager of Dodge truck marketing in 2006. He also oversaw the company’s truck and SUV product planning. Most recently, Hegbloom served as director of Chrysler’s truck, large SUV, and commercial vehicle marketing before assuming his Ram brand product marketing role in 2011.
Hegbloom holds a bachelor’s degree in automotive management from Ferris State University, and a Master of International Business from Central Michigan University.
