Top Ten Best Vehicles For Protecting Passengers From Injuries

Newsflash: Trucks and SUVs protect passengers better and cause more damage.

Aug 5, 2014
A study from Insure.com confirms the widely held belief that the beefier structure and larger size of trucks and SUVs protect occupants better. In the list of the top 10 vehicles for protecting passengers from injuries, every single model was a truck, SUV, or crossover. Unsurprisingly, trucks and SUVs also generally inflict more damage in accidents than passenger cars.
Though vehicles on the top 10 list included the Ford F-250 and F-350, GMC Sierra 2500, and Cadillac Escalade, not all the vehicles were of that size and bulk—with the Volvo XC90 and BMW X1 crossovers also making the list.
1. Ford F-350
2. GMC Sierra 2500
3. Porsche Cayenne
4. Ford F-250
5. GMC Yukon
6. Volvo XC90
7. Ram 1500
8. Chevrolet Silverado
9. Cadillac Escalade
10. BMW X1
