BDS Suspension Showcases Lifted 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Chevy’s Hottest New Truck Gets an Attitude Adjustment
Since it started rolling off the line in Wentzville a few months ago, we knew it was just a matter of time before the aftermarket got their hands on the new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado midsize truck. We were curious what the truck would look like with a lift kit and some aftermarket rims and off-road tires. Well, we will wonder no longer with BDS previewing its 2015 Colorado SEMA show vehicle. The company is claiming it will be one of the first to market with a lift kit for the new trucks.
For the show truck, BDS prototyped a 6-inch lift kit with Fox 2.5-inch remote reservoir coilovers, a full-width skidplate, and Fox shocks in the rear. However, the new truck brought new challenges along with it, namely a unique 6x120mm bolt pattern that isn’t widely supported among aftermarket wheel manufacturers. A quick call to their friends at Eagle Alloys, some custom-drilled 012 Series wheels on 35-inch Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires were fit.
To make ingress and egress out of the lifted truck easier, N-Fab prototyped a set of side steps, and Rigid chipped in a 30-inch curved RDS LED light bar integrated into the front bumper. Although not quite ready for SEMA Show time, Magnaflow chipped in one of its tips ahead of a full cat-back exhaust system that will eventually be offered.
