Trio of 2015 Ford Expedition SUVs Headed for SEMA
Upgrades Highlight EcoBoost Power, Fullsize Comfort
Ford Motor Company has had a prominent presence at the SEMA show as long as we can remember, and this year is no different. Although not entirely all new, the 2015 Ford Expedition does have a new engine, namely the 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 shared with the F-150, giving the aftermarket a little more bandwidth in performance tuning. These three customized models from Tjin Edition, DUB Magazine, and Vaccar accentuate the Expedition’s other traditional attribute of fullsize comfort.
The Tjin Edition Expedition is the most performance oriented of the bunch, featuring a Vortech charge air cooler, custom ECU tune, and Magnaflow exhaust to bump horsepower up to 405. To help corral and bridle those extra horses, the SUV features a custom Unique Fabrications chassis, Air Lift struts, an AccuAir suspension management system, and high-performance Baer brakes behind 24-inch Rotiform wheels shod with Falken tires.
The DUB edition Expedition is all about comfort and amenities with an upgraded sound system, custom seats and upholstery, custom LED lighting, and a full-length center console featuring motorized hidden compartments to store valuables. The rear cabin features multiple video monitors and a video game system with wireless headphones and Internet accessibility.
The Vaccar-edition Expedition is more adventure oriented with a special two-tone BASF custom paint job, a Vaccar front bull bar, Go Rhino! side steps and hitch stop, and a Yakima MegaWarrior cargo basket. Giving the Expedition a commanding stance on the road are 20-inch Mamba M15 off-road wheels and General Grabber AT2 tires.
