Chicago Buick-GMC Dealer Offers a Compelling “White Friday” Deal

Shoppers Will be Dreaming of a White Christmas

Nov 26, 2014
If you live in the Chicago area and you’re planning on getting a GMC or Buick for Christmas, this weekend might be the time to buy. As part of its “White Friday” sales event, Bill Kay Buick GMC will refund the full purchase price of any new vehicle sold on November 28 or 29 if Chicago gets 6 inches of snow or more on Christmas Day.
Obviously, there are some caveats. The vehicle sold must be brand-new, so no certified pre-owned or used vehicles will qualify. Additionally, the contest is insured, so underwriters will verify the snowfall before cutting any checks (and you can bet they won’t round up when they measure). To its credit, the dealership is evaluating total snowfall for the entire day, from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Buick’s cheapest vehicle, the Verano, starts at $24,305 with destination, and the bargain-basement GMC Canyon starts at $21,880, so the White Friday deal isn’t a wise gamble if you’re not already in the market for a new car. But if you are looking for a new GMC or Buick, then you might get lucky by shopping at Bill Kay.
Admittedly, the likelihood of the dealership refunding all that dough isn’t high. While snow in Chicago isn’t uncommon, heavy accumulation like what’s required for the contest only happens once a year in the Windy City, on average. Still, it’s a pretty fun idea, and we wish those car buyers the best of luck.
