Outfitter Customizes Chevrolet Silverado with Callaway Supercharger
Other Upgrades Round Out Rocky Ridge Truck Build
Georgia-based Rocky Ridge Trucks showed off their latest project at the Texas Motor Speedway on Halloween. The Rocky Ridge Callaway Special Edition Silverado was shown during the AAA Texas 500 weekend of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.
The truck, built by Rocky Ridge Trucks, features a Callaway supercharger, triple element intercooler, and low-restriction exhaust system to give the Silverado 540 hp, which is more than enough for the fullsize pickup.
Rocky Ridge lifted the truck by 4 inches and added some meaty off-road tires to give it a brutal stance. The visual upgrades are subtle, and at first glance, the Rocky Ridge Silverado could be mistaken for a showroom-fresh Chevy. However, a closer look at the truck’s smooth extended fender flares, color-keyed Bowtie emblems, 20-inch Callaway wheels, and subtle “SC540” emblems betray that this is no ordinary Silverado.
All in all, we’re impressed by the Rocky Ridge-Callaway effort on this particular Chevrolet. They seem to have built a capable, powerful pickup, but they’ve shown incredible restraint as well. The truck doesn’t come with a roof-mounted Howitzer or outlandish 28-inch wheels, and the black paint and gunmetal wheels are suitably intimidating without being obnoxious. This truck would make a perfect henchman: skilled, talented, obedient, and totally undetectable, at least until he’s kicking your enemy’s butt with his 540hp steel boots.
