Marketing Campaign Kicks Off for 2015 Ford F-150
Campaign to Feature ESPN’s John Brenkus
Now that the 2015 Ford F-150 is starting to roll into showrooms in earnest, the marketing campaign to tell truck buyers that Ford’s high-tech hauler is up to the task of doing the hard work pickups is on. Television advertising will kick off with NCAA Division I football playoff games. In addition to the commercial spots, Ford has released several webisodes hosted by ESPN’s “Sport Science” creator John Brenkus.
Among the widely held perceptions Brenkus tackles in the 3 to 5 minute “Tough Science” videos is whether there really is “no replacement for displacement” and whether the F-150’s aluminum bed is tough enough to withstand the abuse dished out to it by contractors. Other videos and ad spots highlight the F-150’s high-tech innovations such as a remote-opening tailgate, LED lighting, and 360-degree cameras, as well as its class-leading towing and hauling capabilities. Print and radio spots will also emphasize the F-150’s toughness and capability.
In addition to the campaign during the college football playoffs, Ford will also promote the new F-150 on Latin media such as Mundo Fox and Fox Deportes and will also partner with country music star Toby Keith, Professional Bull Riding, NASCAR, and National FFA.
