Recalls Cover Hood Latch, Electrical Issues
Nissan is issuing a recall on 2013-2014 Pathfinder and Infiniti JX35 and QX60 SUVs for a faulty hood latch release cable. The latch claw may not fully engage, increasing the possibility of the hood coming up at speed and compromising driver visibility. Both V-6 and hybrid models are included in the recall, which covers Pathfinders manufactured between June 2012 and November 2013; Pathfinder Hybrids built between July 2013 and November 2013; Infiniti QX60 models built between May 2013 and November 2013; and QX60 Hybrids built from July 2013 to November 2013. Dealers will adjust the hood latch mechanism to prevent release cable binding. A total of 170,665 vehicles are affected.
Nissan also issued a recall on the 2008-2013 Rogue compact crossover for an electrical harness that could experience an electrical short from snow and salt seeping into the carpet on the driver side door. Dealers will inspect and if necessary, install a new harness connector and waterproof seal. A total of 468,815 Rogues built between March 2007 and November 2013 and Rogue Select models built from September 2013 through July 2014 are affected.
