Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady Gives Chevrolet Colorado to Malcolm Butler
Trophy Winner Makes Generous Gesture to Fellow Teammate
Professional sports are often characterized by big money, big egos, and scandals involving players, so it’s refreshing when there’s a feel-good story. Such is the case with this year’s Super Bowl MVP, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. As the MVP award recipient, Brady received a Chevrolet Colorado for his accomplishment. Although there are probably contractual obligations that need to be fulfilled, let’s be honest, a player of his magnitude pulling in an eight-figure salary probably wants to be seen about town in something a little fancier than a $37,000 truck.
Don’t get us wrong, we like the new Colorado and think it’s very competitive for its class. But if we had a few tens of millions burning a hole in our pocket, we’d probably roll in a Range Rover or King Ranch Super Duty. Since the multi-millionaire Brady had little use for the Colorado, he decided to give the truck to fellow Patriots teammate cornerback Malcolm Butler, ESPN reports. After all, Brady already has three Super Bowl MVP awards and the fame and fortune that comes with it. Plus, Brady wanted to recognize Butler’s fourth-quarter interception that gave the Patriots their four-point victory over the Seahawks.
