Jeep Partners With Interscope Records for Renegade Launch
Campaign to Feature Music by Indie Rock Band X Ambassadors
With the new 2015 Jeep Renegade, FCA’s SUV division is hoping to appeal to a whole new group of potential buyers. That effort is kicking off with a collaboration between Jeep and Interscope Records with the minute-long “Renegades” commercial, featuring the eponymous song by the Brooklyn-based indie rock group X Ambassadors. In the spot, which can be seen below, adventurous millennials are seen living life to the fullest, seeking out new experiences.
The spot will be one of several that will be leveraged over TV, print, radio, experiential, digital, and social channels. Two future 30-second spots, “Endurance Race” and “Beach,” will launch in the next few weeks. A microsite at jeep.com/renegadelife has been created to give interested customers an immersive, experiential portal for the new model, featuring a virtual kaleidoscope, a contest to win a new Renegade, and musical artist spotlights, including Brantley Gilbert, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX, and Hozier.
The Renegade is the first Jeep built exclusively outside of North America and shares a platform with the Fiat 500X, both of which are built in Fiat’s plant in Melfi, Italy, in central Southern Italy. Along with the new Cherokee, the Renegade is a critical component to Jeep’s global growth strategy in the coming years.
