Massaging Seats in Ford F-150 Give Construction Guys a Break

Optional Extra Soothes the Tired Butts of the Hard-Working Dudes of Detroit

Sep 4, 2015
Ford rolled a shiny new F-150 Platinum up to a Detroit-area construction site to give the tired workers a little break in the way of a butt and back massage.
Multicontour front seats, which come standard on the F-150 Platinum and Limited, and they're a part of the F-150 King Ranch’s optional 601A equipment group, plant massagers in the lumbar and bottom cushions, and the construction workers generally loved them. One said, “Oooh, I don’t like that one,” but he found other settings he liked. Others complained that now they wouldn’t want to go back to work and were going to get in trouble. Still, there’s nothing like a free butt massage from your truck at the end of a long day.
Multicontour seating is a new feature for the pickup segment, one that’s only available on the Ford F-150. You can be sure that Ram and General Motors will soon offer massaging chairs on their high-buck pickups, but for now, it’s an F-150–exclusive offering. We’ve yet to try them out in a Ford, but we’ve sampled them in other companies’ luxury vehicles, and they do a lot to alleviate the fatigue that comes with road-trip-induced TB (tired bum, for those of you who didn’t grow up with the Baby Boomers).
