Ford Shows Bandwidth of Transit With Customized Van Showcase
From Coffee to Catering, Surfing to Pet Grooming, Transit’s Got It Covered
Regular readers of Truck Trend may remember the article we did about a year ago when we made the case that sometimes vans are better work vehicles than pickups. Although the purveyor of the country’s best-selling pickup line, Ford also happens to sell the best-selling van as well. And for those businesses that need an enclosed, lockable space to conduct their enterprise, there are few more versatile choices than a Ford Transit.
The company decided to showcase some of its customers’ custom Transits, running the gamut from coffee and catering companies, to limousine livery, snowboards, surfboards, and dog rescue and grooming. In addition to the multiple roof, wheelbase and engine options, Ford and its dealers have relationships with many qualified upfitter vendors to custom-configure a Transit to just about any need imaginable, including a schoolbus!
Making the Transit even more versatile for 2016 is the availability of dual sliding side doors and the upgrade to the Sync 3 multimedia interface. You can check out the videos below of the So-Gnar snowboard support van, complete with boot dryers, and the Surfers Healing woody-themed surf van, built by world-famous Galpin Auto Sports of “Pimp My Ride” fame. What would you do with a Ford Transit?
