Hess Toy Truck Unveils 2015 Holiday Model
East Coast Tradition Continues
Those of us that grew up in a certain region of the country have traditions, brands, and rituals unique to that area. Until recently, In-N-Out burger was an exclusively Southern California chain, Blue Bell ice cream was a beloved Texas treat, and getting a hot dog in Chicago instinctively meant Vienna Beef. Another cherished tradition on the East Coast is the release of Hess toy trucks around the holidays. Until 2014, Hess operated a chain of gas stations along the East Coast. The company remains in petroleum exploration and production but sold its retail operations to Marathon. However, the company pledged to continue to offer its toy trucks as it has since 1964. This year, the Hess toy truck is a combo ladder truck that rides on the back of a larger truck.
The toy truck includes LED lighting and also has a pivoting LED searchlight, a slide-out ramp, and four realistic sound effects. A special surprise for this holiday season is a limited edition of 100 individually numbered Silver Edition fire truck and ladder rescue set. The toy truck will be available in select mall locations in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania starting November 12 and available for online order November 1 at hesstoytruck.com. The truck sells for $30.99 online with free shipping and includes five Energizer batteries.
