Hyundai Busts Out Overland-Ready Tucson Adventuremobile for SEMA 2015

Crossover Concept Comes with Rooftop Tent, Custom Suspension

Oct 19, 2015
Hyundai’s custom-vehicle presence is expanding the closer we get to the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. Its third SEMA-bound Tucson concept, designed by tuner John Pangilinan, is called the Adventuremobile, designed for long-haul road tripping, camping, and overland travel. Suffice it to say, we’re as in love with this particular Tucson as we’ve ever been.
The most obvious of the changes made to the Tucson (at least aside from the sleek deployable rooftop tent) is the custom suspension lift. Adding 1.5 inches of clearance makes space for larger Toyo Open Country A/T II tires mounted on RAYS Gram Lights 57DR wheels. The suspension and tires say rocks and mud, while the wheels say rally special stages, so the unsprung components look like they’ll be tons of fun.
Keeping those larger wheels and tires rolling is an AEM intake and charge pipe kit, combined with a Magnaflow exhaust. The freer breathing likely amounts to a few extra horsepower, and Lucas Oil fluids provide lifeblood to the Tucson.
What really set this Hyundai apart from most, however, is its extensive kit of home-away-from-home necessities. The Treeline Tamarack rooftop tent sleeps two, and Goal Zero solar panels provide electricity to charge cell phones and computers, power camp lights, and heat electric cooking implements.
An Aries bull bar and side steps, glossy military-green paint, Rigid Industries off-road lighting, and the aforementioned wheels and tires dress up the exterior. Katzkin custom leather upholstery, Truck Vault storage boxes, and an outdoor-proof Clarion/Scosche audio system make off-grid living comfortable, convenient, and practical.
Hyundai will debut the Tucson Adventuremobile (as well as the Rockstar and Bisimoto Tucson concepts) at the company’s SEMA Show press conference November 3, in Las Vegas. You can bet your outdoor-loving butt that we’ll be eager to see the three Tucsons in the flesh.
