"Special Ops" 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Makes SEMA Debut
Truck Pays Tribute to Elite Naval Division
If you go to any military base across the country, a scan across the staff parking lot firmly validates the fact that members of the nation’s armed services like trucks. So what better way to recognize the men and women of America’s armed forces than with a special-edition pickup? That’s exactly what Chevrolet did with its 2016 Silverado Special Ops truck. Starting with a 2016 Silverado 1500 Z71, the Special Ops truck incorporates a number of unique touches inspired by the Navy’s elite division. The naval-inspired tri-tone blue camo treatment, called “Razzle Dazzle,” was originally developed more than a century ago to disguise a ship’s speed, direction and profile to the enemy. The custom exterior theme also features light, medium, and dark shading for dramatic effect.
Other items on the Special Ops truck include a bed-mounted sport bar with LED lights, an LED lightbar in the grille, off-road tires, wheel flares, custom rocker guards, and a GearOn utility rack storage system. In the interior, the door and glovebox handles are painted a bright Ejector Orange color, and the seats feature waterproof covers with Special Ops embroidery on the headrests. The dashboard is painted in the same Razzle Dazzle color scheme as the exterior. Hardware upgrades include a Chevrolet Performance intake and exhaust, and a six-piston performance brake package.
