2016 Chevrolet Silverado Special Operations Edition Production Announced
Silverado Will Support Navy SEAL Museum
Chevy has released several special edition Silverado pickups over the last year, but their latest offering, the Special Operations edition, does more than add another option for truck buyers. The Special Operations Silverado will support the National Navy SEAL Museum as well as raise awareness for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) thanks to a partnership with USX Mt. Everest Team.
The 2016 Chevy Silverado Special Operations edition features a unique Navy camouflage paint scheme, LED lights embedded in the front grille, tubular steps with all of the chrome removed and replaced by flat black pieces. The main feature, a tubular bed bar with side panels engraved with “Special Ops” and LED lights completes the custom exterior on this Silverado.
A limited production version of this unique 2016 Chevy Silverado Z71 will go on sale in the spring of 2016, with Chevrolet donating a portion of the proceeds to the Navy SEAL Museum. “The partnership will also help us aid the families of fallen, injured and active duty Navy SEALs through the efforts of our Trident House and scholarship programs," said retired U.S. Navy SEAL Master Chief Rick Kaiser.
In addition to supporting the Navy SEAL Museum, Chevrolet will sponsor the U.S. Expeditions and Explorations (USX) Mt. Everest Expedition Team as it seeks to put the first active-duty soldiers and first combat wounded U.S. Veteran atop Mt. Everest in April.
No official word on pricing for the Special Operations edition Silverado, but we’ll keep you updated.
