Nissan Sales SVP Fred Diaz to Become Truck Vice President
Nissan Creating New Executive Position for Trucks and Commercial Vehicles
The U.S. senior vice president of Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operation will be filling out another line on his resume soon, thanks to the company’s newfound focus on trucks and light commercial vehicles.
Fred Diaz will step down from his current position to take on a newly created role within Nissan, that of division vice president and general manager of Nissan North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles. In this position, Diaz will be responsible for creating and building a “holistic business strategy” for Nissan’s trucks and commercial vehicles, which are rumored to include a new Frontier midsize pickup.
Diaz would seem to be uniquely qualified for this position, given his history with marketing and sales of the all-new Titan XD fullsize truck. Before Nissan, Diaz worked for Chrysler as the president and CEO of Ram Trucks. In his new position, he will report to Christian Meunier, who will act as senior vice president of Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations, Diaz’ old position. Meunier will transition into the role from being the president of Nissan Canada, Inc.
The company’s organizational changes, which extend beyond Nissan trucks and commercial vehicles, will be effective as of January 1, 2016.
