Jay Leno Auctioning Custom 2000 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition for Charity
Proceeds to Benefit Multiple Sclerosis Society
There are few celebrities as passionate and committed to cars as Jay Leno. Over the years, the comedian has amassed an impressive collection of rare, custom, and highly sought-after vehicles. Among the vehicles in Leno’s collection are a one-of-a-kind Harley-Davidson Edition F-150 SuperCrew. Run-of-the-mill Harley F-150s from the era came with a slightly detuned 5.4L supercharged Modular V-8 making 340 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque. Of course, Leno, being Leno, specified the higher-output 360hp, 440–lb-ft version from the F-150 Lightning. The truck features a custom single-inlet, dual-outlet exhaust to give it a throatier sound.
That output may not sound terribly impressive by today’s standards, when run-of-the-mill F-150s, Silverados, Sierras, and Rams make between 355 and 390 hp, but in its day, the Lightning and Harley-edition F-150s were among the most powerful trucks you could buy. Ford offered a Harley-Davidson edition of the F-150 and Super Duty models through 2012.
Leno’s web series, Jay Leno’s Garage, recently became a full-fledged cable TV show on business channel CNBC, with the first official season kicking off in October 2015. The truck will be offered through Barrett-Jackson and will be auctioned on January 29, 2016, lot #3006. You can watch the auction live on the Velocity channel. Proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
