Wanna Drive the 2017 Ford Super Duty Before it Hits Dealers?
“Drive the Future of Tough” Tour Gets Public Behind the Wheel
Curious members of the public will have the chance to experience the 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty before it hits local dealerships at the “Drive the Future of Tough” Tour. The event, which will go around the country and put customers in the big truck’s driver seat, will help Ford drum up interest in the Super Duty.
The event will comprise a variety of work-related demonstrations to show off the truck’s capability and strength. While the tour's route hasn’t been finalized just yet, Ford is getting the ball rolling by giving people the chance to enter to win a 2017 F-Series Super Duty and get on the mailing list for nearby tour stops.
The fullsize, heavy-duty truck is notable for its novel new construction. All-aluminum bodywork saves about 300 pounds compared to the previous Super Duty, and Ford will offer the truck with a variety of hard-working features, including an available remote-operated rearview camera designed to be mounted on a trailer, as well as the latest version of the as-yet-unrated 6.7L Power Stroke diesel V-8.
We’ve seen many different body styles and cab configurations, all of which feature bold, blocky design that’s not unlike the OBS F-250 and F-350 of the mid-1990s. Combined with the new Super Duty’s fully boxed, high-strength steel frame, Ford clearly isn’t going to concede the big-truck market to its domestic and foreign competition.
