Ford Introduces F-150 MVP Edition For Kansas City Area
Idea Came From Royals Fan to Commemorate Team’s 2015 Season
Fans of the Kansas City Royals will have 300 opportunities to adorn their driveways with some team pride. That’s how many examples Ford will build of the F-150 MVP special edition. Manufactured at the company’s Kansas City Assembly Plant, the F-150 MVP will commemorate the Royals’ 2015 World Series title.
Based on the XLT with the Chrome Appearance Package, the MVP will be available in either Blue Flame or Oxford White, shades that closely match Royals colors. It includes special “MVP” badging, polished stainless-steel rocker panels, and a spray-in bedliner.
Royals fan Marc Lassalle suggested Ford build an MVP edition to celebrate the team’s second World Series championship. Ford built a Ranger MVP back in 1985 to celebrate the team’s first time winning the series. Former Kansas City Royals star Brett Saberhagen, a member of the 1985 team roster, and current teammate Salvador Perez will help promote the MVP. Saberhagen will visit the Kansas City Assembly Plant today to greet employees and celebrate Midwest Ford Dealers’ continued sponsorship of the Royals.
On sale now at Kansas City area Ford dealers, the F-150 MVP comes just in time for the Royals’ 2016 season opener on April 3 against the New York Mets.
