Hellwig Products Releases Video Commemorating 70th Anniversary
“Forged for Life” Highlights American Craftsmanship
If you own a truck, SUV, RV, side-by-side, or muscle car, you’ve probably heard of Hellwig. The company, based in Visalia, California, has been making sway bars and other suspension components since 1946. To commemorate the 70-year milestone, the company has a video entitled “Forged for Life” with footage showing the company’s products being made from forged steel, including a blast furnace and a combination of machine and hand-craftsmanship. The video starts out with a quiet shot of the company’s shop with natural light streaming from a skylight. It then shows unformed steel rod stock before it’s forged into the company’s signature products. To highlight the heavy-duty, industrial nature of its products, the video has an industrial-electronic soundtrack and, of course, plenty of sparks, fire, pounding, and hammering.
Although the company is most closely associated with lowered trucks and street performance, the company has adapted to changing trends in the marketplace and offers plenty of products for lifted trucks and 4x4s as that market has grown. The company makes sway bar products for the Jeep Wrangler TJ and JK, as well as multiple generations of the Grand Cherokee. Hellwig was also a pioneer in the side-by-side performance space, offering sway bar upgrades for the popular Polaris RZR. Recently, Hellwig partnered with the Lance camper company to build the Overland Ford F-150.
