Infiniti Brings 2017 QX70 Limited to New York
Company Adds Flagship Luxury, Style to Performance Crossover Lineup
The Infiniti lineup will get a bit more stylish with the release of the 2017 QX70 Limited crossover. The new flagship of the QX70 lineup, the Limited adds “an extra touch of exclusivity to the dramatically styled crossover,” according to Randy Parker, vice president of Infiniti Americas.
Setting the Limited apart from lesser QX70s is a bold front fascia design that features an organically shaped lower grille opening and foglamp-replacing LED daytime running lamps. The 21-inch wheels have a tuning-fork design unique to the Limited, imbuing it with a planted, aggressive stance. Dark-finish mirrors and taillamps, stainless-steel bumper protectors, and body-color side vents are the subtlest changes attached to the Limited trim. All 2017 QX70s will have the updated front grille treatment seen on the Limited.
Stepping inside, the QX70 Limited treats its passengers to a bespoke-feeling two-tone interior. Graphite and Stone leather adorn the seats, center console, and door panels, and the seat centers, door panel inserts, and front center armrest are deep-quilted for both added visual pop and greater comfort. Open-pore wood trim and aluminum-flake accents adorn the console with unique, rich-looking style. Infiniti’s interiors always feel distinctly Japanese, looking and feeling like they belong in a high-quality Edo townhouse, and the Limited’s extra kit further the mission.
The changes seem to be mostly skin-deep, but that’s just fine by us. Powered by Nissan’s energetic VQ37 3.7L V-6, the oft-overlooked QX70 has always been a fun, sporty drive, with reflexes that betray the crossover’s FM-platform bones (shared with the Q50 sedan and Nissan 370Z coupe). With performance and style that rival the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne, this new QX70 Limited will be a hidden gem for those luxury crossover customers willing to give it a chance.
The QX70 Limited will be shown at the 2016 New York International Auto Show next week, and it should arrive in Infiniti showrooms by the end of the summer.
