Ford Offers Factory Strobes on 2016 F-150
Option Available to Fleet Buyers
To maintain its leadership position in the fullsize truck market, Ford is offering more factory-installed equipment and configurations to meet specific use needs. On the heels of the F-150 SSV comes a factory-installed strobe light option. The option is intended for utility, road construction, or municipal crews that need a visible warning to remind drivers that workers are present and to proceed cautiously. The factory lighting option is already available on the 2016 Super Duty.
The lights are mounted on the front cowl near the top of the hood in front and on either side of the bed/third brake light in the rear. The lights are weather-resistant, and designed specifically to work with the F-150’s aluminum body. Ford claims factory installation prevents any issues with leakage or corrosion that can happen with aftermarket light installations. Visibility for the amber LED strobes is up to 1,000 feet during the day and as far as a mile away at night. Flash patterns are configurable by the user.
The lights are covered by a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty and are serviceable by the more than 3,000 Ford dealerships nationwide. The LED strobes can be selected by any customer with an approved fleet identification number.
