Brand Helps Out with Donation of Instruments to High School

Apr 6, 2016
Attaining celebrity status can do different things to different people. For some, it becomes a narcissistic self-indulgence and a forsaking of their roots and upbringing in the pursuit of wealth and fame. For others, it’s a chance to use their status to help out those that helped them get to where they are and express their gratitude. For Grammy Award-winning country music artist Chris Stapleton, it’s the latter. In partnership with Ram Truck, Stapleton returned to his hometown high school, Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky, to perform a concert for students and the community, as well as donate $57,000 in instruments to the high school’s music program.
Stapleton, along with Ram Nation volunteers, helped build an outdoor stage for the high school. Stapleton owns a Ram 2500 as his personal vehicle. The journey is documented in a short video, entitled “Built Here,” which aired in a one-minute format at the Academy of Country Music awards show on April 3 and was also edited in a longer format below. The music in the video is of Stapleton’s “Traveller.”
Ram has had a long partnership with the country music industry and artists, including Easton Corbin, Billy Currington, and other artists, in conjunction with its “Road to the Ram Jam” concert series.
